Sebastian Sidi was born in Montevideo, Uruguay (South America) and made his move to the United States in 1982 at the age of 7 with his older brother Ernesto and parents, Miriam and Eduardo Sidi. Sebastian began playing drums at the age of 14 and was self-taught from the very start. His main influences were bands such as the Scorpions, Van Halen, and Iron Maiden to name a few. This was not too shocking considering he arrived to the US when Heavy Metal ruled the air waves. Sebastian then began playing keyboards at the age of 17 just as a writing tool for his band as he continued to play drums. As his compositions became more and more intricate, he decided to put the drums on hold and began composing music to record his first instrumental CD. Sebastian’s music became an electrifying mix of New Age Rock with Classical bringing together people of all ages and races from all walks of life. In 1998 he released his first CD “Prelude”. That same year he made it a goal to perform at every outdoor venue in the Southern Ca area. He reached that goal performing at venues such as Irvine Spectrum, Triangle Square, Shoreline Village, The Block at Orange, OC Fair, La County Fair, Universal City Walk and Downtown Disney among many others. In the process, Sebastian kept composing and recording. He now has 7 Self Produced CDs and 2 Live Concert DVDs and has sold an amazing 300,000 copies without the help of a record company and without a single piano lesson to his name. Sebastian has performed for sold out audiences at venues such as the Downey Theatre, OC Pavilion and The Brixton Theatre to name a few. The Sebastian Sidi Band has opened for artists such as the Motels with Martha Davis, Berlin, Missing Persons, Ambrosia, Dramarama and Greatwhite. Sebastian lived in Downey for half his life and was selected to be the Honorary Celebrity Marshall at their Christmas Parade. Sebastian has been featured on the cover of Downey Patriot, Downey Eagle, Downey Magazine, Downey Connect and has also been acknowledge in many other newspapers and magazines including the Press Telegram AOL and Yahoo News. Sebastian has made television appearances on KOCE’s Real Orange, Telemundo’s Buenos Dias morning show and was a guest on Renan El Cucuy’s first talk show. In 2008 Sebastian worked side by side with 12-Time Emmy Award Winner, George Veras (responsible for Yanni Live at the Acropolis) and was the executive producer for his very first Concert Special. Sebastian’s special aired for the first time in 2008 on KOCE, Public Television and is now airing in different states across the country. Today Sebastian continues to perform throughout Southern California and across the country. In addition to his own musical career, Sebastian also loves to produce other artists from his amazing Recording Studio in the city of Bellflower, Ca where he now resides.
